Should or Should Not Students Pick What They Learn In School? (For School

Debate, Plz Help)? Does anyone know any studies or information on whether students should pick their own curriculars? Thx, I need this for tomorrow, so please help. Thx. :) Your opinions are also welcomed! :D
 
i think some classes should be required but there should also be electives. if college is for focusing on one thing.. having more electives in high school will give you a clearer picture of what you want to do.
