My girlfriend has a small mole on her back that she says is always itchy. I've been with her for 6 years and all the time I've known her she has complained of it being itchy.
Anyway she finally went to her GP who referred her to a skin specialist at the hospital for possible removal. However, the consultant pretty much laughed at her when seeing the mole, and complained that he's tired of GP's wasting his time - he didn't take a sample of the mole or anything and simple said it doesn't need removing - the itchiness is just psychological.
Should my girlfriend go back to her GP and ask for another referral - everyday her mole is itchy. The mole looks fine - its a regular round shape, doesn't bleed, hasn't changed colour, shape, etc, but the itchiness is really bothersome to her and she would like it removed.
