Should I write a book?

I've always kinda/sorta wanted to be a romance writer. I'm always coming up with ideas, or pieces of ideas, for characters and books.

But I can never seem to finish an entire story. I started one story and posted it on a popular website where people can read/review stories--that was almost four years ago. I have 7 chapters completed, lol.

The thing is, people LOVE this story. I have an average of 30 comments on each chapter and I'm STILL getting emails about finishing the story--people literally begging me to finish it--even though I haven't posted any chapters in almost a year.

When my ideas are flowing and I'm actually writing, there's nothing like it in the world--but I know how hard it is to get published. I want to write a romance novel (or a few dozen, lol) but I don't know if I have it in me.

I'm young (22), inexperienced AND I struggle with realistic dialogue...these kinda sound like excuses.

Any thoughts?
 
The best works are done when you are inspired to write. I did 8 edits of a manuscript I wrote. On the last draft, 2 agents were interested, but I still wasn't happy...wanted one more draft....4 chapters into the revision; I lost inspiration. The next few chapters were awful, and I stopped writing....2 years later...the 9th draft is still undone.

I ended up getting into poetry and have a few pieces published....but I found that with any writing; you are the one that has to want to do it.
 
It's easy to say but harder to implement, but you need to discipline yourself. I'm afraid it's the only way to get through a huge project like a book.

hell, go for it, if it dont work out, who cares, at least you tried, but if ya never do, you'll never know what could've been
 
Perhaps you can work with someone who is strong in the areas you are weak in....

Yes, you should write... the fact that people like what you write is the most important thing. You have a real advantage there.
