Should I use ankle weights when doing plyometrics and wear them when running and...

...sprinting? I do plyometrics to run faster and jump higher. If I add ankle weights, will it increase the results of speed and hops? I am wanting to be a better athlete. I am 17
 
dont do any running with them. they will KILL your shins. walking and jumping with them is good to train, and will strengthen your calf's to a small degree
