I am a teenage girl, and I'm currently writing a mystery novel. I'm 15, and the book includes some 'gory' scenes, nothing too bad but a little scary. It also includes a VERY BREIF, non-explicit 'romantic' scene between two of the characters and suggested sexual conduct. There is also some mild swearing. This sounds very stupid, but I plan on becoming a federal agent when I am an adult, and I am wondering whether or not I should use a fake name if I get the book published. If I send it off to the publisher now, I don't want to use my name because my parents and friends would be horrified and alarmed that I'm writing like this. But if I am an adult and a federal agent, I don't want people to know who I am in case that jeopardizes my career. I really need help! Serious answers only, please.
