I'm trying to add a little bit of power and i know that the stock cam is pretty mild. if i were to upgrade the cam would it really open up the power?
Edit: sorry, i should've gave more information. I've already installed a Hi-rise edelbrock intake, holly 570 carb, headers and full exhaust.
well, i'm trying to get more power out of this engine. when it was built, GM along with every other car manufacturer were trying to save the environment with stricter regulations. with a 400 ci engine, there's only so many things that you can do and changing the camshaft is one of them. i've heard that with similar engines, like the 455, changing the camshaft made as big of gains as changing the heads did.
