Should I unlock my iphone on 4.26.08 or 05.11.07?

I currently have 3.0.1 on my Iphone. I have the option of upgrading to firmware to 3.1.2 using a Custom Firmware. Just can't decide if I should upgrade to 3.1.2 and keep my 4.26 Baseband or upgrade to 3.1.2 w/ 05.11 Baseband. Or simply upgrade to a legit 3.1.2 Firmware which then will upgrade my baseband but I would have to use Blackra1n to jailbreak/unlock? Just want to know if there's an advantage of keeping 4.26 or simply go for 5.11. I can unlock on both just want to know if to keep or to upgrade. And if its better to upgrade to 5.11, should I go legit 3.1.2 or not? I do use my Iphone with other carriers when I go out of the country... Thanks for your help...
