So here's the deal:
I graduated high school last year (2010) and I got into University of Richmond which is a really great school. The only problem is, it is a private school and very very expensive (about 50000/year). My parents decided that they didnt think it was worht it, so I was forced to attend George Mason University instead.
George Mason, dont get me wrong, is a good school, but it is weird. First of all, we dont have a football team. Second of all its Economics department (my major) is in the college of sciences, not business, which really really bothers me. Third, a lot of the students intimidate me. I am from an area that is very wealthy, very safe, and very white. Please dont take that the wrong way!!!
In order to transfer to Richmond, you have to have at least about 7 credit hours of college classes and at least a 2.0, but lets not joke here, I better have at least a 3.5 to get accepted again.
The problem is, last October, in the middle of my Freshman year, I was diagnosed with cancer and had to come home. In consequence, next year I will be a freshman at George Mason again because I hadnt completed any classes.
My parents feel really bad now that they didnt pay for me to go to richmond, and my dad got a huge pay raise at work so we can defintely definitely afford it now.
So, do you think that I should go back to George Mason for a full year, and then try to transfer to Richmond, or should I just not bother and suck it up?
Do you think they would accept me at Richmond again? When I was in high school and got in, I had a 4.1 GPA and over 1300 on my SAT plus various activities. I had 2 A's and 2 B's when I left GMU and a short list of activities.
Please, this is killing me!
