She and I had known each other for three years in high school, but were more like best friends for the six months before we left for college. I pulled away before we left because I saw some warning signs that she might actually be a kind of terrible friend, but before that I had been pretty happy with things. Basically, we didn't see each other for two weeks, and she showed up, and completely out of the blue (for something this serious) demanded all of her stuff back that was laying around the house, and treated me pretty terribly, considering I was having an understandable reaction to the transition into college.
Cons:
1. When we first became friends, she propositioned me, kinda. It threw me, but she was kind of awk sexually after that.
2. Very rude to my family. They all dislike her, and they've liked all of my other friends, so I wonder if they see something worse than I do. And she didn't mean the mean things she said in jest, and my family members are genuinely nice people.
3. Unstable personality. Mental disorders, which I'm not trying to discriminate against, but she doesn't really stay on meds and definitely has some issues to work out (that she ignores).
4. Extremely jealous of when I'm friends with others/my relationship with my boyfriend.
Pro: We were awesome friends.
So, I can see how I might have been too willing to look past her flaws and accept her because I was pretty lonely for a friend. I think before I wrote her off because how she broke our friendship off made me mad, and because of the pressure other people put me under to "get rid' of her. However, she tried to manipulate me into putting her own interests above mine in a very stressful situation, in which I had every right to prioritize myself (note: I was never rude to her in those two weeks! Just busy and distant.).
Feedback would be...awesome.
Right now I'm leaning towards not reconciling. She's never been able to keep a friend, and I think that's probably true for a reason.
Anyway, sorry for how long this was, and thanks in advance!
