Should I transfer to another college or should I not?

Now I know ultimately this decision is totally up to me but I would like some input since I can't talk to my academic adviser until August.

Reasons 1-5: I attend a small private liberal arts college, and I like it there a lot. However this year has been very stressful on me and my parents. The school is nowhere near cheap, tuition and fees are 37,000, my partial scholarship allows my parents to pay only about 8,500 of that, and they aren't giving out solid scholarships unless you play football, basketball, or baseball. And 8,500 is not really what i call affordability on my family's budget. We had 25 dollars to live off of after my final tuition payment of the year. "Well why don't you get a job to help out?" I've been asked. Well for starters, I didn't get any of the jobs I applied for because of "lack of work experience". My parents have never let me get a job, and the result of that is that now I cannot find a job anywhere on campus. My parents cannot afford to get me a car (new or used), therefore the off campus jobs I qualify for, I can't get because i do not have a reliable form of transportation, and the public transit sucks. None of the routes would take me where i needed to be. Just the ultimate lose, lose situation.

Reason 5.5: This is not really important enough to be a full reason, but we all were told as freshman that 1/2 of our class would transfer out before we graduated. Well, I am just ending my freshman year and 1/4 of my class is already gone because of reason 1 above. Many of them I had very close bonds with, and it has had a huge effect on campus events. Socially its just not as much fun without them, and emotionally I am a wreck because of it. I already spend enough time studying, but now that I have a limited number of close friends left its like now all of my time will be studying. I have a 3.95 gpa, i deserve to take a break for a little fun every now and again.

Honestly, I would rather start over socially at another university that my parents can afford than watch them struggle to make my tuition payments.

I know many students are in a similar situation financially, what would you guys do if you were in my shoes?

Your gpa is excellent, but isn't it a little late to be thinking about transferring for next year? Most schools have filled their slots for transfer students.
I'm sure you're aware that state schools are much less expensive than private. Does your state have a school with a program that would fit your career goals?
Friends are really important especially for providing support in stressful situation like college, but I wouldn't let that be the most important factor in choosing a school. You sound like someone who makes friends quickly.
Good luck!
