I've been at this school for a month now and I hate it! I suspected that this school wasn't really for me all summer as all my friends were psyched to go away and I wasn't really looking forward to it. I'm also 9 hours from home. At first I was told to give it time and it will get better.
Well It's been a month, I still have made no friends and the distance iisn't exactly helping. I've gotten over the homesickness I'm just not happy here. I plan to stick it out until the semester is over. My parents are telling me to stick it out because it's a big name university and they think a diploma from here will open a lot of doors for me in the future. I don't see the point in me staying somewhere I hate for four years just so I can have a diploma that has a name on it.
I believe that it's not where you get the degree but how you use it. I've tried to make it work here. I've been positive, socialized, even joined a few clubs. The people are cliqish and clanish, almost klanish if you know what I mean. I've told my parents this and they keep telling me to just stick it out. I've told them I will give it until the end of the semester. However, if I do leave I'm not financially stable to live on my own yet. What to do??
