So, a friend has offered to trade their iPhone 4 for my desire (plus a little cash on my end). I really like the Desire, and have no complaints... but I've never tried an iphone and im soo curious.

I love the widgets, love how I can personalize my Desire so it everything is organized how I like it.
GPS is HUGE for me (I have zero sense of direction) and the voice navigation on my desire is used a lot.
I truly love my desire. The only thing that makes me curious about moving to apple is I hate how not all androids get updates. Will my desire make it past 2.2? Theres a good chance it wont, which means Ill be wanting another phone in like 6 months. I wouldnt mind just settling down with one phone for a little bit.
OTOH once we get 2.2 I couldnt imagine needing anything else from my phone.

When it comes to the iP4, the screen is beautiful, as is the camera/video, but I don't know much else about ios.

So here I am. Can't decide what to do. Any insight you guys have is much appreciated.

if you decide the iphone 4 is not right for you, you will not have a problem finding someone willing to trade your iphone 4 for another android phone.

There is a good chance that your Desire will be updated within the next season. And if you're with Vodafone or in Europe, even sooner.

Having seen Android 2.2, I like it very much, but its not like I would lose sleep waiting for it. I got a Nexus One with Froyo here, but I tend to use my HTC Desire with good old Android 2.1 and HTC Sense more. All the HTC Sense stuff are very phone smart, it makes many of the most basic operations you want in a phone remarkably easy, The Android 2.1 as it is on the Desire right now is very stable.

Its better to get your update right rather than get it sooner. If you push an update too soon and its not properly cooked and tested yet, there's going to be a lot of issues to make users unhappy.
