Should I talk to teens about LGBT issues or eat at a restaurant?

Strange choices I know. Anyway, the first one takes place at a youth shelter for troubled teens. The topic we will discuss is LGBT issues and HIV/AIDS. I really sympathize for these kids (aged 10-17) and really want to reach out to them, especially those unsure about their sexuality.

The second option is for a class, and we're supposed to eat at a Thai restaurant. The teacher is interesting, and I'd be eating with my best friend. It's so tempting.

This is seriously hard to consider!
Both take place at the exact same time. Sadly, I have to choose only one option.
I could go to the Thai place at another time but only with my friend. It wouldn't be with the class, and we planned to just hang out at the restaurant.
