Okay, I'm sorry, but this could be a little bit long. If it does, I apologize.
First, I'll just describe myself briefly. I'm a nerd, in every sense of the word. I (used to, got contacts recently) wear glasses, get great grades, have horrible looks (even with my contacts and the best haircut I could get), I don't play any sports, I have few friends, etc. I'm also really, really shy and quiet. REALLY shy and quiet.
So anyway, there happens to be a girl I like. A lot. More than any girl I've like before, but because this girl has so much in common with me. Anyway, this girl is shy and quiet as well, and she also gets straight A's. If she weren't so shy, I'd know she was out of my league, but because of her shyness it seems like she doesn't have many friends (I only see her in the halls alone, or with one or two of the same people on rare occasions).
So anyway, this girl rides my bus. Great, right? No. We get assigned seats tomorrow morning. The thing is, we are getting to choose our assigned seats, and I'm really thinking about sitting next to her. I'm just wondering, should I start up a conversation on the first day I sit with her? Or give it a couple days and then talk to her, to reduce awkwardness?
