A Little Background:
Currently I work at the Marriott where I live. I make a modest $8/hr working the front desk. It is a formal job and at points can prove to be very stressful,
Recently I discovered that I am the receiving the lowest hourly pay for my position. This is sort of a low blow considering I work 40+ hours; while attending college full time. There are also two people who have been hired after I started in June of this year. I am disappointed because I am the only person in the hotel that can operate the front desk efficiently enough to work solo.
Dilemma:
I have interviewed for and been offered a job as a verizon sells rep. This job is based upon my abilities to sell. I would make commision off of every phone or accessory I sold. If my sales were down for the week then I would be garunteed minimum wage; so at least I am falling back on money. With this position I would have the opportunity to triple my paychecks, and work the same hours.
-Now if your wondering if I can sell things, my father once told me "I could sell Ice Cubes to Eskimos" and he is a pretty successful guy - but thats not the point.
The Question:
This new job would be at a kiosk in the local mall, the city has a population of about 45,000 people, and I have never had a job in sales, but I'm good with people.
The current job is working in a hotel, with a resurant at $1.61 for a meal(buffet breakfast, or menu lunch), I like my co-workers and bosses, and I make about $550 every two weeks.
-My goals are to get a job with; advancement opportunities, the potential to transfer, the ability to support myself when I move out, and to help put myself on a successful path,
--Thanks for reading!
-Anything helps
