Should I take ballroom dancing?

I'm sixteen years old and I have a history in ballet. Where can I take it in Plano, Tx? I'm afraid I'd be in a class with all old people because I'm a beginner and all people my age would be really advanced... Also, how much would it cost? And would I take group type classes? Because I don't want to take private lessons.

I took ballroom dancing at 16 with my boyfriend and were the youngest people in the class, also took classes with one of my girlfriends which was equally fun, just easier with a guy since he is the usual dance partner. I really enjoyed it and even though I stopped taking classes I got to an advanced level and competed in small competitions. It made me feel really elegant, really very pretty and believe it or not ballroom dancing requires you to be in good enough shape. Also coming from a background in ballet some of the steps came easier then others and I knew the type of self discipline it took. However, just starting out is fun no matter what your age and who cares if you are the youngest in your class, you want to learn, learn and enjoy yourself. In a group you need to remember everyone is just learning! I payed 225$ for 10 weeks. Just remember head up, shoulders squared and a nice tight elbow!
