I'm currently a freshman and AP US Hist is being offered next year for sophomores. I was thinking of doing it but I'm not really sure if it's such a good idea. Here are my pros and cons:
PROS:
- I heard if I do well on the AP test I don't have to take this course in college
- Will be good when applying for colleges
- Will help me to learn more and handle stress
CONS:
- I will be stressed out no matter what
- I will be doing football as well as spring track so it would be hard to manage both
- I have AP test for History, then 2 weeks later I have History MCAS (Standardized test for Massachusetts) and then 3 weeks later I have Final exams
- I heard that every week includes a writing assignment (possibly 2 or more) and lots and lots of reading along with hours of studying (from what students have said)
I also am unsure whether to take it because as of now my history teacher isn't doing a really good job at making sure everyone knows their stuff (really a chill class, no one really cares).
Opinions will be appreciated
