Should I take a business plan with me on my first business meeting to discuss...

...an idea that I have? I am in the midst of setting up a meeting with a Director at my University. The meeting is to discuss an idea that I have that I believe will improve the University. Should I make and take the business plan with me to the meeting, or should I wait until I get a GO or NO-GO from the director so I can make and bring the plan for the second meeting?
