I have a 96 chevy blazer and recently replaced my intake manifold gasket because of overheating and mysterious coolant loss. I couldn't find the leak, I just knew that the hoses and radiator were not leaking and eventually replaced the intake gasket and a leaking water pump. I recently learned about a lawsuit against GM for the use of this coolant because it causes sludge and dissolves gaskets. I filled the system with orange prestone compatible with dexcool. I'm wondering whether switching to regualr green prestone coolant will be betterbecause the replacement of the intake manifold gasket and water pump are very time consuming and I don't want to have to fix that again soon.
Should I switch from gm dexcool coolant to the prestone compatible with all colrscoles?
