I have a suspension that is supposed to be going into effect on April 4th for 7 months ($10+GST/PST for a total of $78.40)... After a lot of questions I found out the cost to 'restart an account would be $50.

Why wouldn't I stop then restart?

Wouldn't this be cheaper? So what am I missing here?

Of course you know all of this started because the recent bill for next month that I just received is asking for the full amount rather then a $10 suspension amount!!!! They have the worst billing system!

Thanks!

Restart is better normally unless you on an old package you cant get back
Restart lets you take adv of whatever new promos are out (most dealers are pretty aggressive) plus putting the cancel request in might even net you a better plan via retentions

Suspended means you paying for a service you arent using. Unless the package you on is grandfathered or unless suspension is very short term I dont see point

Either way, it's going to cost some money. Bell requires 30 days notice for cancellation and will want payment for that time so you may still be on the hook for 1 month's service. By canceling, retentions will get involved and reduced or eliminated fees could be negotiated. I also believe that you would qualify as a new subscriber after 6 months. That means that programming credits or other new customer promotions could be made available.

Thanks for the thoughts.

If they charge for 30 days then I might as well go with the suspension now as it started today, the difference if there were only a $50 re-connect fee versus the $10/month plus taxes was only $28.40 for the 7 months... stay connected for additional 1 month and the difference in the savings get even worse... about $17 (Plus I have to pay the month of April)

I think what I should do now is wait until November and possibly adjust my programming package after the suspension ends?
