I bought a 2006 honda civic at Burns Honda. The civic had a crack in the bumper, which the dealership gave me a we owe slip to have the Burns body shop fix the crack, free of charge. I dropped the civic off on a wednesday. 3 days later I got the car back from the body shop and the hood of the car had 3 big scratches and a chip in the paint. I pointed the damage out to the manager on duty. He said because it was a friday no one was there and he could do nothing until monday. Also they put moulding clips on the bumper instead of bumper clips so the clips fell off. On monday the body shop manager set up for me to bring the car in on wednesday to have the problems fixed. I picked the car up on wednesday night and all they did was replace the bumper clips. The body shop manager said the scratches were from normal wear and tear of all the driving I had done. I put 400 miles on the car at that point in time. So Burns Honda is refusing to fix the damage they have done to my car's paint. I have contacted the general manager that said to bring the car in and he would look at it and see if he could do anything to help, but the body shop won't fix it. I have contacted Honda's Corporate office in California. They are trying to help but say that since the dealership is privately owned they can't make them do anything. So should I sue Burns Honda? I got estimates from 3 body shops and the total cost to have the repairs done is between $450 and $600. I know it not a huge amount of money but the fact that they caused the damage, I don't feel I should have to pay for the repairs.
