Should I start university in the fall or spring?

If I start in the fall, it would be at Ohio University and I'd have to use loans to cover my entire first-year tuition because my family's broke and I missed priority scholarship deadlines (I was going to attend another school, John Carroll University, and my mom waited until mid-April to tell me that school was too expensive after getting my award letter in FEBRUARY!) and if I started next spring, it would be either at the University of Cincinnati or the University of Toledo because, again, I missed scholarship deadlines and I really think I could get a lot of aid from both of these schools if I get my application in super early.

At first, I was really picky about where to go, but now I don't care as long as it's somewhere and that somewhere isn't Cleveland State University (I live by there and it's hell on earth disquised as a college).

What should I do?!!!? My mom wants me to go ASAP, and so do I, but I don't want to do that if it means coming out of college in debt up to my eye balls.

If student loan debt is your main concern, why not knock out a couple of Gen Ed classes at your local community college before transferring to your preferred university in the spring? That way you are getting some classes out of the way while avoiding a large amount of debt until you can get your scholarships and other awards worked out.
