Should I start out on my Harley-Davidson?

So my grandfather passed away about 4 years ago and left me his 92' Heritage Softtail Classic.

im 18 years old, 6'1 240lbs. I plan on taking a riders saftey course and getting the bike fully inspected with a change of tires, oil, ect.

so my question is.. do you think it would be ok for me to start out on this big bike. remember im a big guy. or should i start on something such as a sportster? ive have ridden dirtbikes a couple of times so i know the basics of riding.

Big bike but big guy and you do at least have some experience so you should be fine as long as you take it easy to start with.

Nice legacy to have - Enjoy.
