About a year ago, I bought a 04 Honda Accord? I was planning on keeping it (forever) but there is a good possibility that I'll be relocated across the country to Seattle. I knew when I bought the car, that I over paid for it. (Salesman got me into a 6 yr loan) I'm not having trouble paying for it, it just that I'll be in Seattle where, they use public transportation more. I don't want to waste my money, having it sit in a parking lot. I looked and I'm upside down in the loan. I owe about $18K and on KBB (private sale) its worth $12k. I am thinking about selling it and just getting a loan to pay off the difference. Or I was thinking of letting it sit (while in Seattle), and collect some equity on the car.. plus i won't be driving it as much, so it shouldn't depreciate as much as it did while I am here... putting 25k miles a year. Then in a year, sell it. I can also, save by suspending the insurance since I won't be driving it. (my sister's an insurance agent) Any other ideas?
