I bought a used Toyota Matrix year 2005 in May 2008, I just took it in when the 'check engine' light went on and there was some jolting in the driving.
Turns out there were two things wrong with the transmission, so $2000 later I'm wondering if I should sell it now while it's all fixed up and go and buy a new car. My job causes me to do a lot of city driving all day long, lots of stop and go. I was thinking if I sell my car for around $12000 and buy something like a Yaris, Fit, or Wave I might stand a better chance. I just wanted some opinions on the matter....I don't want to do anything irrational.
