about 4 days ago i began having audibal hallucinations. i am hearing the same song continuously. it isnt loud but it is always in the background. i am not using any drugs although i did use when i was younger, it has been about 6 years. i do however smoke and drink. i began hearing the song the day after i got laid off from my job, so i was wondering if it may be only stress related and if so will it go away on its own? i am hesitant to see a doctor because i am now unemployed and have no insurance, but if it might be something serious i would like to know so i can get checked out.

Concentrate on saying one letter such as "o" to yourself over and over until you weed out everything else and your mind only sees "o". This will help clear your mind. Do this as often as needed to stop the song.

i believe u are misunderstanding me. the song isn't "stuck in my head" the way songs sometimes do, i am literally hearing it.

Yes, stress can cause symptoms like that, but you do need to see a doc to rule out anything serious. Hopefully it will fade by itself, if not, therapy or medications can help speed up the process.

If you don't know of any low cost clinics near by try this .gov website for local info: http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/getting-help-locate-services/index.shtml
