Should i return my MAC brush or is it really worth keeping?

I just bought a $37 MAC brush and i realized i could have found a cheaper one and for about the same quality. My friend works for Mark and i heard their brushes are pretty good and most importantly more affordable so im thinking to buy one from there instead but is my MAC brush worth the cost?
