Should I replace the parts or get a new bike?

Ugh. You should not have bought a K-mart bike to begin with.

A new set of wheels plus a chain will cost more than 77$ if you add the work. If you do it yourself, you'll need to buy specialized tools.

Go to a local bike shop and ask if they could do the repair and for how much. They might refuse because you bought a piece of junk from the supermarkert. Or ask K-mart about repairs.

Do not invest in another piece of junk.

Support your local shops and buy a real bike, which will last (not need new wheels after a couple hundred miles. The chain is something that does need to be replaced after a certain amount of use).

All right, I bought a simple K-mart bike 3 maybe 4 year ago, and now its not working so great. So far I figure I need to replace the rim, tire, and the gear chain. Would it just be worth it to get a new bike for $77 or should I replace these parts? I would be doing all the repairs myself if I decide to replace the parts. Another thing is, is that I have no idea where to buy a replacement rim. Any help would be great!

Thanks

I repair these bike for people all the time. Supermart bikes stink. You replace some stuff now and replace the rest of the stuff later. That is how it works.

I would recommend getting good name brand bike, or just a good quality bike from a bike shop but if you do not have the capital to do that right now then just get the bike you have now fixed up.

Putting new parts on your junk bike will result in a junk bike with new parts. If you have the $77 to invest, try to find a used bike of decent quality. Putting money into a junk bike just doesn't make sense.
