Should I really be in college even though I have no interest in it or know

It's a good idea to stay in college, because when you get old, your views on life obviously change. You go from "I hate all them oldies shows." to "GIVE ME ONE GOOD REASON WHY THEY SHOULD CANCEL BONANZA!" So, you should finish up getting your degree, and see where everything goes from there. You never know. I mean, you don't need a degree to write a novel, but it would be nice so you have the roper knowledge. It would also be another great thing to put on your biography on the back cover of the book (LOL).
 
what I want to do with my life? I'm currently enrolled at a 4-year university as an English-writing major because I like to write; however, I don't know what I want to do with it. I know I don't want to go into journalism and I hate kids so teaching's out- the only thing I can think of to do with my major is writing a novel and that doesn't require a degree. Plus, I have no interest in even being in school; I barely attend my classes and all I can think about is how much money I could be making at my job back home. I think being in college was just a way to procrastinate the growing-up process and I know I won't have as many job opportunities as someone with a bachelor's degree, but I'm not sure that that really bothers me. If I don't want to be in college, should I really be wasting my time and the effort of my professors if I have no interest in higher education? Is getting this education as important as everyone says it is?
