Should I rat my friend out for writing a bomb threat in our school?

Last Thursday, someone wrote a bomb threat on a bathroom stall in our high school. The school was evacuated and searched, and it was just one of prank ones. It was the second one in thirteen days. Our school now won't let anyone in the halls during class periods.

Today, however, someone who is a close friend of mine told me that he did it. He told me because he trusts me more than anyone else, or so he says. He was trying to get out of a chemistry test because he felt he had not studied enough, and he would take the time to study while we were sitting at the evacuation site (Which was about two hours). He also admitted to writing a bomb threat on February 13th. He did that one so our school would get attention.

Our school says that when the person is caught, the student who turned him in will get some kind of "reward" and the culprit will be expelled.

Should I rat my friend out and get him expelled? Or should I just stay quiet, and be loyal to my friend?
Being stuck in our classrooms during class periods won't last forever, but it may last a few weeks.
