Should I quit my biology degree and go into music?

I need some opinions here.
I am currently studying Biological Sciences at University. And it's a good course, don't get me wrong. I enjoy aspects of it, and I have an idea about what I'd like to do with it after I graduate. I also realise that doing a science degree allows me to go into many different careers and have lots of new job opportunities.
However, sometimes I don't enjoy it. Sometimes I get bored of revising about genes and doing chemical calculations and what not. And I worry that I'm not amazingly talented at it either.
Well, I just happen to be quite musical. I read and write music well, I play piano, guitar and I sing. I have also founded and become president of a new music society at my university.
I really enjoy doing this. I have also performed numerous concerts either playing my own songs or covering someone else's.
Thus, I often think it's a waste of money to be spending on a university degree that I don't really enjoy.
Of course, being a musician isn't exactly a steady job...but what is these days?
Then again, on the other hand...if music turns out to be the wrong move for me...I will feel like I wasted my time and will have to find a way to go back into studying biology which could be difficult and expensive.

I don't know what to do. I dream all day long about writing music for films or performing on stage...but perhaps this is only meant to be a dream.

Any ideas? Thanks :)

How far in are you in your degree? I think that factors in alot. If your way in, say two or more Years then no. Less than one year, maybe. Also, why not minor or double major in music? Take some classes and don't stop doing musical extra curricular as a side project. Maybe something will work out . Good luck!

Continue your degree, whilst doing a few gigs here and there. Its always a good idea to have something to fall back on.

Don't quit your degree.

Do both. The music busines is very precarious and unstable like you say and the wise option i think would be to continue studying. We all get bored of thiongs we do at times. You would get bored of some aspects of music after a while too im guessing.

think after completing current course
and keep your self continue with collecting
the information about musics
take opportunity to take part in musical events ,
programs , stage performances
with the current study
get your self in touch with music what you liked
all the best
