should i put a lift on my 91 ford ranger?

i want my truck to look bigger and meaner but i don't want it to be a rough a ride or lean to much around turns? should i get one?...i have a little wallet...i need to know if i should get one how much lift and what brand? I'd also like to know of any other ideas that might make it look meaner....thank you
