For a while I've wanted to become an engineer. I'm pretty decent with math and I figured if I became an engineer, I could use that to make guitars (which is what I'd really like to do, but I'm not so sure that that is such a financially stable route). However, I just got out of an AB Calculus class and I'm rethinking it. I got a C in the class, which I'm okay with, but doing the same formulas over and over again really brought down my expectations and "enjoyment" I guess.
Recently though, I've seen a couple of movies/shows dealing with the main character being a lawyer (I know in real life it wouldn't be the same), but it still looked really interesting. However, I looked up some information about it and said it can be stressful, sometimes not financially secure, and a lot of reading needs to be done (which I'm not much a fan of). I am a good people person though, and I like helping people, but I'm still stuck.
Basically, I'm thinking twice about being an engineer because it seems repetitive and boring, but engineers are in demand (I believe), and I'd be able to work on guitars because Engineering wouldn't be as time consuming.
Law looks interesting though, but I'm not sure if I could handle all the work. I'm a hard worker and everything, but I read somewhere that it was like, "for each hour in class, another 2 or 3 are spent outside doing more work."
Last thing before I stop =D
I don't need to be rich, I don't want to be living in a cardboard box though. I planned to be a Mechanical, Computer Hardware, or Electrical Engineer (if I went that path). What would you suggest for a lawyer (corporate, private practice, etc.)?
