I am not insured and I do not have medicaid so I intend to pay for my medical expenses out of pocket. The hospital where I plan to deliver my baby charges me about $3,500 if I pre-pay for regular birth or over 15,000 if I pay after delivery.
Why is there such a big difference for the same service?!?
Why are hospital costs ($3,500 or $15,000 only includes room and board for 2 days and NO delivery, doctors, medications, or pediatrician costs!!!) higher that any 5 star hotel accommodation?!?
Why are hospitals ripping off governmental systems such as Medicaid by sending them bills for over $20,000 or higher (depending on type of delivery and care received)?
If I don't take care of my medical bills on time, can it affect my credit score?
