Should I pay $100 dollars for the Mazda Dealership to tell me what is wrong?

2004 Mazda 6 (V6) starting making this rattling noise from under the hood about 3 weeks ago.

I took it to one mechanic who said it was something to do with the timing chain & so I ordered about $100 dollars worth of parts and he wanted $350 for labor.

For a second opinion, I took it to a shop my friend goes to and the mechanic said that nothing is wrong.

Confused, I seeked a third opinion. I took it to a shop that said it was the CAT and he recommended I go to muffler shop.

Did that, muffler shop said "oh, its the oil....just get an oil stablizer"

It did absolutely nothing,

Now I'm thinking I should have just gone to the main dealership and pay mazda pros $100 just for their words. Yet I've never gone so I wonder if they will surely put an end to my search for the problem.

The car isn't doing anything else but making a strange rattle. Sometimes the acceleration seems a little off....but I can't tell if it is just the way I'm driving.
