...should be eating? It said around 850 calories a day to lose 9 pounds in a month.
I find that I'm rarely ever hungry, and I've actually had days where I've accidentally forgotten to eat due to business (airport trips, car trips, etc) and I normally do not notice I haven't eaten unless someone points it out to me. I do know however know that your body goes into starvation mode after a certain amount of calories is cut (according to doctors), so I'm confused. I'm 112/113 pounds at 5'4, and I'd love to get down to 108 or 104 despite not being overweight. I'm actually more near underweight, but I'm a dancer and feel as though I need to lose some weight, and if I were to get down to my goal of 104, my BMI would be 17.5, which Seventeen.com told me is healthy for a 15-year old. So anyways I inputed this and my age, 15, into some calorie calculator and it told me that, to lose 9 pounds in a month, I should eat around 850 calories a day, but that's under the 1200 most people would recommend. However, I am very slight in build, which makes me think I can eat fewer calories. Should I just eat when hungry and consume around 800 to 1000 calories a day? I eat very healthfully, mainly vegetables, fish, nuts, fruits, dairy, and whole grains. When I did eat 1700 calories one day, the scale said I gained weight. Would eating 800 to 1000 calories a day be dangerous? I make sure to reach my fiber and protein needs for the day and most of my calories come from vegetables, which make up most of my lunch and dinner.
Also I exercise, sleep enough, etc. I don't need any obvious advice like, "no junk food." I'm very health oriented, but I'm confused about how this rule I've always accepted applies to my body. The average american woman is like 145 pounds at my height, and I'm 112, which makes me kind of think that there has to be some sort of calorie-intake difference.
I eat every four hours. And idk Paul, I live in Orange County. That's where a lot of the media is coming from, and I have friends who are celebrities themselves. I also have relatives in the actual industry, and as a tennis player and a runner and a dancer, there's a lot of pressure on me for my body to be flawless. I really love it, but I wouldn't mind being thinner, especially because I go to a pretty competitive high school where most of the students are pretty attractive and well-maintained.
Yeah, I'm mostly muscle.
I dance, run, and play tennis.
