Should I medicate my aggressive cat?

I have a 10 month old male kitten named Houdini. (Dini) Ive had him since he was 3 weeks old-his feral mom and littermates were killed by a fallen log. He's a bottle baby and was weaned at 4.5 months (he did NOT want to give up his bottle and I had a hell of a time getting him to eat soild food..many trips to the Vet for dehydration ect) He was fully litter trained from day one and while he is NOT spayed yet, he does not spray nor have any scratching issues.

The problem is his biting. Since the day I brought him home he has been a holy terror to handle. Im covered in scars- when he bites he draws blood. Ive tried everything from spray bottles-pennies in a can-blowing in his face- biting him back-flicking him on the nose-ignoring him-putting him in his cat carrier for a time out. Ive scoured the web and spoke with 3 different Vets about it and tried all of their suggestions and while he has improved somewhat- he is still biting.

He bites when you pick him up, get to close to him, reach over him, ect.. He used to just walk up and bite me for no reason at all but that has pretty much stopped. Taking him to the vet is a nightmare. It takes 4 technicians to hold him down just to examine him. After the 3rd time of this they started having to sedate him just to examine him because they couldn't do it properly because he was so out of control. The reason he has not been fixed yet is because everytime we schedule the surgery- he ends up coming down with an Upper Respitory Infection and we have to postpone it. However the vet said that she doesnt think that it will help much because of how bad is aggression is.

All that being said- he can be EXTREMELY affectionate. WHEN HE WANTS TO BE! LOL And ONLY when HE wants to be petted-loved on. And then its only for a few minutes. He isn't as affectionate as he used to be when he was younger.... he used to want to snuggle and he'd "groom" me. Now its maybe 2-3x a week that he will hop on my lap and cuddle for a few minutes and then he's done.

He is free fed dry food and water and fed a can of wet food 2x aday- he is WELL fed. He has a climbing tree-a cat condo-a cat playhouse thingy-and TONS of scratchers and toys. My house is like Kitty Chuckie Cheese so he can't be bored! He is spoiled rotten. Ive thought about getting him a companion but Im afraid of what he would do to another cat. I have 2 small dogs that he attacks on a daily basis- he's drawn blood on them a few times. Im at my wits end and Im really considering medicating him! Do they make kitty valium?

The vet has reccommened him being uthanized. I refuse to do this. He is my baby! And he's not always bad. Its just the biting. Ive thought about medication. Does anyone have any experience of things of this nature?
