I'm 38 years old and I have been working in the USA for 25 years. The rat race routine and waiting until you are 65 to retire doesn't make sense to me. I dream of retiring in the dominican republic, it's an island in the caribbean. I was born and own a home there. I don't have a mortgage on the home and my bills in this country would be dirt cheap. Financially, I could retire If I wanted to, but I am chicken about it. I continue to dream about early retirement all the time. It has become a burning desire. What do you think is going on here? what is your opinion about this matter?
