Hey guys.
Okay, so I think I want to be a journalist (writer). Thing is, Journalism is a pretty narrow degree. Apparently, you can get hired as a journalist if you have an English degree, but I figure you wouldn't get all the classes in ethics and stuff. What do you think? Also, what exactly is a double major and does it cost more money?

Do a journalism degree, since when you apply to grad school in journalism, you do have a much narrower degree, and are much more specialized for it. If you major in English alone its a bit harder to distinguish yourself in grad school for journalism from all the English majors who are jobless.

A double major is where you get two majors on one degree, or on separate degrees. Whether it costs more or less money, that depends on your school. If tuition is a fixed rate at your university, then no. But if tuition goes by the number of credit hours, a double major will need more credits so presumably yes.
