Should I major in History?

I am a big History buff, I mean I really love History. It is so interesting. But I was thinking, what kind of job could I possibly get with a degree in History?
I mean, seriously? In this economy that would be somewhat a waste of 4 years of my life and a lot of money.

So, what other majors that involve history, could I major in and still get a decent job?

by the time you graduate, the economy would have improved, but of course if you anything about history, you would know that

I majored in history and at the time they didn't need teachers so i worked as a paralegal for a while. Research. Museum work I guess are other options. Teaching would be the logical answer. Somehow I ended up becoming a social worker but thats a long story. Look to see if there are teachers needed in your area and then take it from there. Good luck

Politics is a big one with a history backing. Even just working for politicians. You could also be an advisor in politics. Get hired by news networks to advocate and explain situations for the current events. It has a lot of backing and respect. I wouldn't dismiss it that easily. Presidents have majors in history. The military also hires civilians with history majors. The branches are endless. Work on your own as a private tutor.
