I have to fill out a report for work. I told a customer that she had to have her dog in a carrier before she could board my bus. She didn't have one but she had the dog on a leash and I said the dog would have to sit on the floor at her feet. She wanted to hold the dog on her lap. I was insistent and wouldn't move the bus until she complied. Finally I drove, then about 3 miles down the road the dog was back in her lap. I asked my dispatcher to contact a supervisor to take her and the dog off the bus and tell them the rules.
So I go home and review the rules, guess what, they've been updated. Now dogs can be on a leash or on a lap. But not on the seats. Should I say I told her the dog couldn't be on the seat and she let it anyway?
Nothing will happen to the customer, it was days ago and no one even knows her name. But if I admit I goofed up, then I have a bad mark on my work file.
Anyone?
