We graduate high school in a couple of months and I have always thought that afterwards we would get an apartment together and go to the community college since that is what we have planned but now he's saying he wants to join the Air Force and it's mainly because that's what guys in his family have always done: join some branch in the military. His dad and his grandfather were both in the Air Force and now he wants to do it too. At first he said he didn't want to but now he is saying he does! I'm so upset because I know how these military relationships work: you hardly see the guy and you have to communicate with letters and crap! And I don't want that and I told him that so he told me that if I didn't want him to sign up then he won't and he will stick to our original plan. I'm thinking of telling him I don't want him to but my mom is saying that's not right. What should I do?
