Should I leave a dead fish in my aquarium for the snails to eat?

I just finally noticed what happened to a missing guppy fish in my small aquarium. It died & I noticed many of my small snails feeding on the dead fish. I know a dead fish is bad to have in a tank, throwing off the chemistry. I have no idea how long it's been dead. Should I let the snails finish eating it? Or remove the carcass? Thanks!

You should always remove dead fish as soon as you find them. Since you don't know how long this has been in there, I suggest removing the carcass and doing a 30% water change. Dead fish left in the tank will cause ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels to rise to harmful levels.
