Should I just get a Prada?

Been researching phones so much the last few days I have a huge headache. I want a large screen like the iPhone but I can't stand it's limitations. I want a lot of features like the Nokia N95. I'm starting to look at the Prada. What do you think?

Where's a good place to buy? tigerdirect has it but it says "European version". What makes it a Euro Version exactly? The fact that it's unlocked?

Usually it means unlocked, yeah. However, it also means it primarily supports European frequencies. If you look near the bottom, you'll see GSM 900 and 1800, primarily used in Europe and Asia. You'll also see GSM1900, which is used in the US, but no mention of GSM850, which is also used in the US by many carriers. This is a serious lack: Most carriers in the US have a significant percentage of their coverage via GSM850, and the only one that doesn't (T-Mobile) roams on other carriers' GSM850 signal in many areas.

Oh, and it also probably uses a European connector on the wall charger, but that's not that big a deal.

If anything, call your carrier and ask what band your area uses
If your a Cingular/AT&T customer, your area may be like mine back in PA, all 850MHz.
If your T-Mobile, all of your native coverage is 1900MHz, but you will maybe roam on CellularOne/Dobson Cellular Systems or Cingular a lot.

Umm, stay away from Prada. There's nothing in it, if your looking at Prada, might as well get yourself HTC touch since they both lack 850mhz but atleast the HTC touch is MORE productive in terms of its uses.

I have AT&T and don't plan on switching for awhile so I guess I better make sure I get 850.

I like some of the HTC models and am looking at them. I wish the SE 960i would hurry up and come out, I'd probably just get that (I already have a W810i and love it. It's easy to get spoiled on the great battery life).

My K800 didn't have 850 and it worked great on Cingular over a year ago.

The Prada has a .2" larger screen than most touchscreen phones. Size shouldn't be an issue. The screen is 256k color, however. The thing is overpriced IMO. If it has the Prada name, you're paying for the name.

My friend has the N91 and has serious issues in certain areas in my city because of no 850mhz, so check out your area and see the dependency on 850mhz, but yes, the W960 isnt going to come till Q4 of this year, dont knw if you want to wait that long, but in the mean time, check out HTC Touch, its pretty slim, and has a neat touchscreen + stylus interface.

It depends on area. I have been using K700i, W800i and N93i for years with Cingular, signal is great city but in some rural area I might not have as good signal as some of my friends who're using official Cingular phones with 850.

Certainly, you pay more because of the name, though I think Prada is nice (and really luxury feel packaging) and is a better buy than their handbags.

I would research the frequencies in your area and if you do not have 850 in your area or very little, I would get the prada but I recommend all HTC Products
