So I want to upgrade my old Nokia 5310 XpressMusic. I live in Canada. My phone carrier is Rogers- I've been with them for a long time. My 3 year contract is going to expire in October 2011. It costs $50.00 to upgrade to the new and beautiful Nokia N8! BUT...they said I have to buy the $25.00 data plan ): I don't want it. I don't really need it. I refuse to pay an extra $25.00 JUST for data. I'm a university student who's almost always in an area with Wi-Fi. My current phone plan is the Family Plan (with my sis)- unlimited texting, 250 mins. of talk time, unlimited after 9pm on weekdays, and unlimited weekends.
The phone itself is ~$450.00 on its own- no contract. Should I just buy the phone? I've been waiting for a good mp3/camera Nokia phone for a while now...'cause my XpressMusic is getting really old (I already accidentally dropped it in water).
P.S. I have a strong preference for Nokia phones. I'm not really interested in the iPhone 4 or any Blackberry device.

To clarify, I'd have to pay the $25.00 EVERY MONTH (on top of my phone bill, obviously).
