S spang New member Jan 29, 2011 #1 interest in aviation mechanic? I just turned 23 and have an interest to be an Aviation Mechanic, and eventually some sort of pilot. Would it be a wise decision to join one of the military branches to help pay and train me to be a Aviation Mechanic?
