Should I join the Military Active Duty or Reserve?

Hi, I am 23 years old and am seriously considering joining the military. I have done extensive research on most of the military branches and have spoken with multiple recruiters. My best friends are marines and my sister has recently joined the Army. After speaking with all of them, I have decided that after I finish off my two-year College degree I may decide to join active duty.

I will have an AA in Criminal Justice and I want to pursue either Maritime Enforcement/Security forces or any Military police job. However I was offered a program in the Army reserves to finish off my school and get an education in intelligence and become and officer through rotc. My ultimate goal is to have a 4-year college degree, have military experience (preferably in my field), and become either an officer in the military or work for the government.

I have to make a choice by this October because I have a choice to either finish a 4 year diploma and dedicate myself towards a bachelors degree or I can join the military active duty and get my experience now. If I don'tt apply to a state college by then, I will have to wait an entire year before I can apply. Ultimately, I will need a diploma, but I have heard that in some circumstances the military will pay to finish off education or send their soldiers to schools to learn their trade.

I would like any information on deals or contracts where I would join with a specific amount of credits or a 2 year degree and could get into a program that finishes the education or something like that. I don't want to join while I am old, and there are so many jobs thatinterestt me now.

Some of the jobs that intrest me are: Military Intelligence, Military Police, and Helicoptor Machinegunners, just to name a few. Any advice would be great on which branch has nice offers on education and officer opportunities. Thank you.
