I am 17 turning 18 in august of 09. I am in a dilemma trying to figure out whether to join the Army or the Navy. I met with a Navy recruiter and what he tells me some sweet deals but I also know he has a quota to meet. Then I met with a guy that was in the Navy but left because he didn't like having to clean, paint, etc. the ship while the sailors and marines do nothing. I am looking to be a cook or go into the medical field. I want a safe life but not something that I will be B.S.'d in either. Can someone tell me. Which branch is better and more honest and which is more suitable for me ?
They say in the Army nowadays no matter what your job is even if its pay clerks you can still get deployed to Iraq. And in the Navy, if your E-1, you'll be cleaning and polishing the ship 365 days a year.
