Should I install CB Setup myself or dealer?

One question i have is does the CB antenna....rear speaker wiring....intercom wire for passenger headset all run through the wire trough under the tank?

Yes, but take a look at the installation instructions for the BAMI kit and either of the CB antenna mount kits on HD's website for details.

Are you doing this without a Service Manual?

Im going to buy one today......sounds like i will need it for this project. The plug and play portion of this project sounds very simple. I just want to make sure im routing all the wiring properly for a clean factory look. Thanks.

Good luck with your project. While you have the outer fairing off, check for wear on the inside surface. Some RG owners have experienced wear from the radio carrier brackets, and HD has redesigned the bracket (or at least they have a new part no. for the brackets) for 2011 models. Not sure of details, but worth a look.

Good luck with your project.

Thanks Carl for the write up- I will definately refer to your posted install when I go that route! Those types of contributions to this forum ROCK!

I installed the CB, rear speakers, and intercom on my '08. It was a pain but not difficult. Removing the tank is a 5 minute job, if that, and allows you to properly route the wires.

I picked up my parts...got home and opened the antenna kit and NO antenna...im 45 minutes away from that harley..so kinda pissed they better mail me the antenna...

Already had my harley apart installing most everything else before found that out...most everything was easy....most of directions are very vague...nothing really says anything about the accesory harness..

you have to get the directions on the harness from another source, i think i got mine from the directions on installing the xm module. Once you look at it awhile and look at what you are doing, it will become clear how it needs to hook up.
