should i??? honda xl125 varadero?

i was talking to my friend yesterday and he said he asked if i wanted to buy his honda xl125 varadero 2007 for £450.
i think this is really cheap for it but he assures me that it is all fine
should i get it?
should i still do a bike history check on it?
